Cranberry Sorbet - cranberry sherbet
Cranberry is a very healing plant, I think it is healthier to prepare and consume sherbet or compote of fruits that are in season during summer days, instead of consuming ready-made drinks... Preparing cranberry sherbet is both a very easy and delicious option. Here is the recipe:
1 kg Cranberries
2 cups of Powdered Sugar (the ratio is just right for us, you can add more if you like sweets)
1 stick of Cinnamon
Water (average 3 lt.)
I washed the cranberries well and put them in a large pot.
I put sugar, cloves and cinnamon in the pot, put drinking water on it to leave 2 fingers of boiling point and let it boil.
It boiled for 40 minutes on heavy fire. The cranberries gave their color to the water and the grains turned white.
I took the cinnamon bark from it (so that it wouldn't give more bitterness while waiting), closed the bottom and closed the lid of the pot and left it to both infuse and cool all night.
You can check the sugar content while boiling. If it is not enough, you can add a little more... Sugar rate may vary depending on the type of cranberries.
In the morning, I filtered it and filled it into bottles. I put it in the fridge to cool.
