What is Cardamom?

It is the general name of plants that include cardamom, Amomum, and Elettaria genera in the ginger family. It grows in the warm regions of Southeast Asia, Western and Southern India. The fruits of cardamom are 12 cm long and have a yellowish green and dirty whitish color. The seeds, which are lentil-sized and shaped, have a reddish-brown color. Cardamom, which has a strong smell, takes its name according to the place where it was grown.

How Should Cardamom Be Consumed?

It can be used in fish dishes, legumes dishes, pudding-style milk desserts, or it can be consumed by adding to beverages such as tea, compote, and coffee. At the same time, after soaking in hot water, it can be filtered and sweetened, or it can be easily consumed by chewing.
