Olive Oil Leaf Wrap

  • 500 grams of vine leaves (I put them in the freezer in the summer)

  • 1 cup of rice

  • 1 cup of bulgur

  • 1 onion

  • 1 diced tomato

  • 2 cloves of garlic

  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste 1 teaspoon pepper paste

  • 1.5 teaspoons of dried mint, 1 teaspoon of red pepper powder

  • 1/2 (half) teaspoon of cumin

  • Salt

  • olive oil



If the vine leaves are fresh, let's dip them in boiling water and take them after 2-3 minutes. Finely chop the onion into a deep bowl.


Let's add rice and bulgur after washing and draining. Add the crushed garlic and tomato paste. Let's add the tomato puree.


Let's add the spices. Add olive oil and mix well.


Let's put it in the leaves and wrap it. I put it in the pan vertically (I put it upright because that way it cooks evenly).


Let's fry 1.5 teaspoons of tomato paste in olive oil in a sauce pan until its smell is gone. Let's spread it on the wraps we have lined up.


Then add enough hot water not to go over the wraps. Let it boil over high heat. Once it boils, drizzle some more olive oil on it. Let's put the stove on low heat and cook for 1 hour. Enjoy your meal!.



While cooking, it should be cooked on low heat for 1 hour after boiling over high heat until boiling.
