Quince Dessert with Pomegranate
For Quince Dessert with Pomegranate: 4 quinces, 16 tablespoons of granulated sugar, 1 pomegranate, 2 sticks of cinnamon, 5-6 cloves, 1 glass of water
To decorate: Milk cream or whipped cream, Walnuts or Pistachios
We wash the quinces well. Prepare a large bowl of water with lemon. We will keep the quinces in this water until they do not turn black. We peel the skins of the quinces. We lay the shells at the bottom of our large glass-lidded pot, where we will cook our dessert.
We divide the quinces in half. We put the seeds that come out of it in the pot next to the shells. (The seeds will both release a nice color and provide a jelly-like consistency.) We hollow out the middle of the quinces that are cut in the middle. We arrange the quinces one by one in our pot, with the hollow parts facing up.
We put granulated sugar in the hollow parts of each quince, 2 spoons. Cinnamon, cloves. And we put the pomegranate seeds in the pot together with the quinces. Lastly, we add the water and close the lid and take it to the stove. When it starts to bubbling, we turn the stove to low setting. and we are slowly waiting for the quinces to both cook and change their color. My honey boiled for about 1 hour.
When the water starts to run out and it gets a nice color, we leave it aside to cool. We serve cold. You can decorate it with milk cream or whipped cream, walnuts or pistachios. It is recommended to be prepared the day before and consumed the next day.
